Belgrad Forest: A Breath of Fresh Air Within the City
Stretching across the north of Istanbul on the edge of Sariyer and Eyupsultan, Belgrad Forest is one of the city's largest green areas. Popular with locals for running, walking and picnics at weekends, it offers an easy escape thanks to its relative closeness to the city centre.
Walking and running trails
The trails around Neset Suyu and the Bentler area come in different lengths, suitable for walkers of every level. Shaded by trees, they offer a cool walk even in summer.
Historic dams
The dams in the forest are important waterworks built in the Ottoman era to supply the city. Structures such as the Great Dam and the Valide Dam add a historic dimension to a nature walk.
Picnics and relaxing
Families and groups of friends can spend the whole day at the designated picnic areas in the forest. Going early gives you an advantage for both parking and peace and quiet.
Getting there
Public transport to Belgrad Forest is limited, so going by car is the most practical option. If you are going as a large group, the spacious vehicles in our fleet and our chauffeured car service make things easier.
