Shopping in Istanbul: Streets and Shopping Malls

As well as its historic bazaars, Istanbul is a favourite with shoppers for its modern malls and boutique streets. It offers a wide range, from luxury brands to local designers.

Shopping streets

Abdi Ipekci and Tesvikiye streets in Nisantasi are known for boutiques of international brands and local designers. Istiklal Street in Beyoglu, with its shops, historic arcades and crowds, is where the city's pulse beats. On the Asian side, Bagdat Street offers a long shopping and strolling avenue.

Shopping malls

Malls such as Istinye Park, Zorlu Center, Kanyon, Cevahir, Akasya and Emaar Square have shops, restaurants, cinemas and event spaces where you can spend a whole day. Some also have dedicated spaces for performing arts and exhibitions.

Shopping tips

Weekday daytimes are quieter. If you live abroad, remember to ask about tax-free refund conditions at participating stores.

Getting back with your bags
